Educational Toys Are An Investment In That Child’s Future
Read to Me, Mommy! Cuddle up beneath the tree with a good book and enjoy a gift for two If not from a book, then where do you think those sugarplum visions came from? Babies and toddlers love a good book. They remember and request story time often. This is a great thing because reading to your child is one of the most important things a parent can do to help develop reading skills.
There’s only one problem: most toddler and baby books are not so captivating for mom or dad, and they have the ability to be a bit high-priced. This is where Christmas enters the picture. Why not devote some of your gift budget to giving a gift that’ll enhance reading time for both of you?
If you are purchasing for someone else that’s getting ready to give birth soon, why not buy baby gift baskets that include educational toys as part of the gift collection in the unique newborn baby gifts?
A book of my own
Toddlers love to have ownership of their very own things. Books are a great item parents can use to feed this pride in ownership. Place an assortment of books, individually wrapped beneath the Christmas tree in a small basket or bin and you’ve a ready-made library as well as a storage place.
Your child can take the book basket up to their rooms and create their very own reading nook. As the year moves past Christmas and the books in the basket get stale with frequent reading, simply rotate a few new titles into the basket. Put away the old books and save them for a reentry in a couple of months. This keeps reading new and exciting for both you and your child without breaking the bank on new books every few months.
Feed the Imagination
Toddler books are so much fun and make great uncommon baby gifts that the child will grow into quickly. They’ve a longer attention span than babies and are not quite as apt to rip out all the pages. Toddlers have also pronounced interests that are fun to feed.
Giving a few books that let them explore existing areas of obsession as well as a few books that expose them to new ideas is a great way to build a life long love of reading. Toddlers love bright colors and pages with lots of photos. As much fun as a book might be for you, your child is not ready for chapter books yet. Choose instead classic children’s authors like AA Milne, Beatrix Potter and Dr. Seuss.
These books offer differing styles and a wide range of characters your child will come to adore. There are also a wide variety of books featuring characters from popular Television shows and movies: Dora the Explorer, Clifford the Large Red Dog, Curious George and the Berenstain Bears are all fun characters that your children would love to read about as well as watch on the large screen.
Purchasing books is not usually considered when buying gifts for a newborn and yet, thinking ahead and purchasing educational toys and books is one of the most creative baby shower ideas you can give a family.
